Biopic to be made on famous dancer Sitara Devi, announced on 101st birth anniversary

On the 101st birth anniversary of famous Kathak dancer Sitara Devi, her son revealed that a film (Biopic) based on her life is being made. The film will be produced by Raj C Anand of Raj Anand Movies. Sitara Devi’s son and music composer Ranjit Barot will contribute to the making of this film by sharing important insights about his mother’s life.

Ranjit Barot said that he is happy that a film is being made on his mother’s life. “When Raj Anand came to me with the idea of ​​making a film on her, I realized that his enthusiasm and affection for my mother was genuine,” she said in a statement. We intend to bring the untold story of his life on screen.

Sitara Devi is known as the ‘Nritya Empress’ and has been instrumental in bringing this classical style of dance to Bollywood.
